John C. Pegram, Jr.


Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer John C. Pegram, Jr. serves as the Bank's and our Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer, and, during July 2004, he was appointed to serve as Chairman of our and the Bank's Boards of Directors. He previously served as our Vice President until 1995, Senior Vice President through 1997, and Executive Vice President of the Bank until 1998. He has been employed by the Bank for 32 years.

W.A. Potts, Vice Chairman of the Board

W.A. Potts serves as our Vice Chairman of the Board. Dr. Potts has been a Director of the Bank since 1968 and a Director of BancShares since 1982. Dr. Potts is a retired veterinarian; formerly President, W.A. Potts, DVM, P.A. and former Chairman of the Board, Mount Olive Pickle Company, Inc.

M.J. McSorley, Vice President

M.J. McSorley serves as our Vice President and served as the Bank's Vice Chairman from 1998 through 2005. Previously, he also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank.

David A. Bean, Secretary, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer

David A. Bean serves as our Secretary, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer and as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Secretary of the Bank. He has been employed by the Bank for 29 years.

R.D. Ray, Vice President

Richard D. Ray serves as our Vice President and as Executive Vice President of the Bank. He previously served as Senior Vice President of the Bank until 1998 and as Regional Vice President until 1993. He has been employed by the Bank for 36 years.

Drew M. Covert, Vice President

Drew M. Covert serves as our Vice President and as the Bank's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Previously, he served as Vice President of the Bank from 1998 until 2000 and as a Bank Examiner for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from 1991 until 1998.
